So I get a text from Ninja P aka Big P....saying "I haven't seen anything on nonsense for 2 weeks...."
This got me to thinking about how hard it is to juggle anything you previously did before you had kids....
That includes family, poker, friends, TV, mma and everything else you might have once utilized your spare time to occupy......

So 2 weeks in between blogs, it seems that I will be more likely to start blogging via my phone (since these smartphones do damn near everything under the sun these days)....

Another thing that P was talking to me about was whether I had withdrawn my funds from the online poker sites I play at....
I guess he had seen a report on ESPN that the DOJ (as opposed to DJO) had indicted Lederer, Fergusson, Raef & others in their attempt to "tax" the US Online poker community....
....just fyi, I have not taken my funds out of my accounts and I have come to the conclusion that I will basically take a loss...thank goodness I was somewhat diligent about regularly withdrawing the larger sums I would win instead of always just leaving it in there....
so the loss is somewhat minimal...

side note: I got to go to the casino last Friday nite and reenvision myself as a pro at the local HG casino....I met up with a few heads and we played.....
1 guy who was there, we'll call him "smiley"....was playing at my table for a little bit and we saw one of the strangest and really sad hands of poker...
So the guy has 44 and is going heads up against a smaller stack who had 2 bet it pre-flop with Q6....
the flop came out 343....naturally the 4's checked, Q6 bet big, 4's called and the turn came another 3....Q6 pushes, 4's call.....the river......
Can you guess what the river was?....
I'll give you a hint?.....
only 1 more of those cards left in the deck?....

yup...a 3.....4's counterfeited & Q6 swoops the pot....
we all were flabberghasted....craziness....

I read somewhere a person akin the "ponzi" scheme of FTP to the banking system in the US...
and if you carefully look at the factors, it is really quite similar....
I mean, banks have investors give them money, they in turn give money to other people the same money they got from the investors....
the only way a bank stays in business is to continually get more investors...
many pensions are ran the same way....the only way a pension stays functional is to have the upcoming generation keep adding into the pension...otherwise, the pension gets depleted....
I heard a stat the other day that 30 yrs ago, there were 30 people working for every 1 person who collected Social Security...now there are 1-2 people working for every 1 check of Social Security...
Many people claim Bush Jr. and his cronies spurred on this whole theory that by the time my generation is ready to collect Social Security it will be empty...
but many economists claim that's just another scare tactic to force the hand of the voters....

How do these 2 things relate?
I think  when the powers that be need to inflict pain on people in order to get their agenda across, they can swiftly and effortlessly put anyone in a bind.....
Poker: I think the US just really felt they lost an opportunity to cash in on the phenomenom that was online poker....so now, they are attacking FTP hard.
Social Security: In order to justify making harsh changes to the way the system is ran, they need to scare the public into believing it's depleted.

This time though I decided to take her to the Duck and take a picture while she was still on the bike seat (despite the manufacturer saying not to leave your baby alone in the seat without someone holding the bike....whooops!)


OK, so I've wasted enough time of mine and yours with all my overbearing love for my daughter...
So on a grim and somber note, there was a casualty in the Olson household...
The neighborhood rat/mouse who rolls through our backyard in the evening found his way to our pond and decided to rest his head and body for good....RIP.
